Draft Code Of Practice: Pet Food Processing, Part 1: Overview
MAF periodically asks for feedback on food safety issues that affect consumers and the food industry. You can make a submission (by post, email or fax) before the closing date. MAF analyses all submissions and considers how they might be included in final decisions.
The Code of Practice: Pet Food Processing is focused on primary processors who solely process pet food. This includes operators who slaughter and dress farmed mammals, and dress wild mammals. There are a number of existing parts of the Code of Practice: Pet Food Processing (Pet Food COP) in final and draft format. MAF is currently reviewing, and updating, these parts of the COP.
