||Due to the sunset clause technical directive 98/116, Circular 89/MQ/76:
Surveillance of Potable Water in Meat & Game Export Premises has expired. This is a
repeat of 98/116.
||The Cold Store Association and individual cold stores have approached MAF
about the necessity to carry out Category B testing in cold stores. It has also been
requested to have the implementation date extended.
||For those cold stores that handle protected product only, the
implementation date will be suspended until the requirements have been reassessed.
Carcasses with stockinette only are considered protected for the purposes of these tests.
||Where in any licensed cold store unprotected product is handled or stored
or where a licensed cold store is authorised under Section 5 of the Meat Amendment Act
1987 to thaw, re-freeze and re-pack packed products, the requirements of circular 89/3/1
||The requirements to carry out Category A tests for cold stores will
remain applicable as per circular 86/3/5.
||This directive cancels and replaces technical directive 98/116, Circular
89/MQ/76: Surveillance of Potable Water in Meat & Game Export Premises, issued 6 July
